TeakRenu is a water-based, tinted coating designed to protect and enhance teak wood. It provides superior protection and a lasting appearance of freshly oiled teak on furniture, veneers, marine craft and more. TeakRenu has built-in UV protection that will not crack, peel or yellow; and suppresses the dulling and graying that occurs when teak is exposed to sunlight and rain. Waterproofing properties also seals the surface from stains and damage caused by oil, grease and liquids. And mildewcides prevent the growth of mold, mildew and algae. Unlike solvent-based coatings, TeakRenu will not blush (appear milky) when applied to slightly damp surfaces.

This outstanding coating rivals the finest urethane and oil based coatings on the global market in performance, aesthetics and durability delivered in an eco-friendly, biodegradable coating that has no fumes or odors. TeakRenu is used by experts, but it is safe and easy to apply for non-professionals and do-it-yourselfers.

TeakRenu Application

TeakRenu may be applied by foam brush, cloth, or low pressure airless spraying. Prior to application make sure that washed surface is allowed to fully dry. Do not apply at temperatures below 50°F or above 90°F. Two coats are recommended as the first coat will lock into the fibers of the wood and the second will provide a protective outer layer. Allow the first coat to dry before application of additional coats. TeakRenu is a fast drying coating and at 77°F and 50% RH (relative humidity) and should be dry to the touch in about 15 minutes or less. The time required to dry may vary based on exact prevailing conditions. Although the full curing of the coating will take place over 72 hours, the coated surface maybe put to light use once the coating is fully dry to the touch. The use of gloves, masks or other protective measures is not required.

TeakRenu Coverage

Coverage ranges from 250 sq. ft per gallon to 500 sq. ft. per gallon depending on type of surface and surface porosity. 250 sq. ft. per gallon will yield 6.4 mils wet, and 1.5 mils dry film thickness.
